Cooley Unleashes: Hat-Trick and Assist in Utah Mammoth Victory

ST. LOUIS – Logan Cooley starred in a magical night by scoring a natural hat trick in a span of 4:48 minutes during the first period, in addition to registering an assist, propelling the Utah Mammoth to a 7-4 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night. Cooley assisted on Ian Cole’s opening goal, and then scored three consecutive goals, all thanks to assists from Dylan Guenther, tying his personal record with four points.

Everyone talks about his shooting ability, but I think his passing game is really underrated. I think we’re starting to understand where he likes to be on the other end. And I think he’s going to keep getting better.

Cooley started his scoring streak with a shot from the area after a pass from Guenther at 6:07 minutes. He repeated the feat at 7:57, with a backhand between the pads of goalkeeper Joel Hofer, at which point Jordan Binnington took his place in the goal.

He is very strong physically. He is very strong in battle. His balance is really, really good. And, as I said, his competitiveness, I think, helped him a lot in that sense.
