Facundo Bagnis, provisionally suspended for doping
Argentine tennis player Facundo Bagnis has begun a voluntary provisional suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) made the announcement this Thursday.
The test was conducted during the US Open qualifying phase in August. Bagnis, 35, was notified of the result this month and chose to begin the provisional suspension last week.
In the event that a sanction is determined, the provisional suspension time will be counted.
Bagnis, who is currently ranked number 215 in the ATP ranking, reached his best position in 2016, reaching number 55.
